“Your Home away from Home” in beautiful Devon
Chota Peg 11 is berthed at the exclusive and very private Mid Devon Moorings on the Grand Western Canal near Tiverton. The location is less than 3 hours from the Midlands and is an ideal base for West Country touring, or just a beautiful tranquil spot for long week-ends.
The boat is in lovely condition throughout and has had extensive service works and upgrades done during the last 18 months.
The boat has bespoke cratch covers fitted both forward and aft. All the Perspex windows having been replaced in 2024.
The superstructure was repainted in an attractive black & grey colour scheme in 2024.
A full survey was carried out in October 2021 and the hull was shot blasted and blackened at the same time. New anodes were also fitted.

Engine:
Vetus 3-cylinder diesel, last serviced in late 2023 with only limited intermittent use since that time.
There are 3 leisure batteries, plus 1 engine start battery fitted in secure newly constructed battery boxes and all are kept charged by a newly fitted solar panel. Ship to shore electricity receptacle fitted including long power cable.
Interior: The well-appointed Saloon has new curtains fitted and has polished hardwood flooring throughout.
There is a double bed located at the stern end plus the seating area midships converts into an occasional bed when needed. There is extensive storage space available throughout the boat including beneath the double bed, wardrobe hanging space and beneath the seating area,
A television is supplied with the boat which receives all Freeview channels and has an excellent picture. There are several USB sockets plus 240-volt power points which can be used in moderation via transformers (supplied)
A foldaway dining table fits into the seating area space when required and can accommodate 4 diners. The table can be folded up and stored to one side to provide a spacious seating or dozing off area.
There is a cast iron wood burning stove which keeps the whole boat very cosy when the colder weather arrives. A firewood storage area is located opposite the wood burner with two shelves over.
Adjacent to the woodburning stove is a pair of small double doors which provide access to the forward seating area which is a delightful spot to enjoy a glass or two or afternoon tea.
The Galley comprises of a fridge, an oven, double sink and new double gas hob. It has luxury bamboo worktops on both sides. There are cupboards, drawers and shelves in the galley area. The gas boiler is a newly reconditioned unit fitted in 2024.
The Great Western Canal is a landlocked stretch of water, which runs from Tiverton to just shy of Taunton. Just a short cruise into the countryside takes you to splendid isolation with not a living soul nearby. The mooring is located near junction 27 of the M5, and is available by negotiation.
Chota Peg II is available because of ill health.
